PM names Shaikh as new Finance Advisor

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former privatisation minister Abdul Hafiz Shaikh has been appointed as the new Finance Advisor by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, officials said on Wednesday.

Shaikh is seen as reform-minded and free of corruption, the official added.

Former finance minister Shaukat Tarin resigned last month to focus on his private business interests.
