Partial strike to protest killings of Ulema in Karachi

KARACHI: Partial strike has been reported in Karachi and other cities and towns of Sindh to protest killing of Aalmi Majlis-e-Khatm-e-Nabuwwat leader Mufti Saeed Jalalpuri and others.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam had given call of the strike to protest the killings of the religious scholars, as Police and Rangers have been alerted to meet any contingency.

Jamat Islami, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, JUI-Sami Group, Jamiat Ahle Hadith, Muslim League (Nawaz)Sindh, Muslim League (Q) and Pakistan Democratic Party have backed the strike call.

The commuters face difficulties in the morning as public transport was thin.

The local administration has deployed additional men of Rangers and Police personnel at sensitive points of the metropolis.

In Hyderabad various groups have announced to hold protest demonstrations after Zohar prayers.
